Update as of May 14, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. CST

For today’s update regarding the ongoing health and wellness of our residents and team members, we can report that no new positive resident COVID-19 test results were received by our community since or last correspondence on May 8.

By way of recap, as of May 13, we have 7 active Health Center resident cases of COVID-19, many of whom remain asymptomatic or are showing mild signs of the virus. We have set up a special care isolation area in our Health Center, and our residents who tested positive are being cared for in this area. We ask that you keep all of them in your thoughts, as we continue to provide daily care and service to these residents.

With the assistance and support of the Minnesota Department of Health and our Medical Director, last week we began voluntary COVID-19 testing of our Friendship Village of Bloomington team members. As of today, we have one team member who tested positive for the virus. That team member is self-isolating at home with the support of our Human Resources team.

Also, while the Governor of Minnesota is lifting the stay-at-home restrictions on Monday, Lifespace and Friendship Village of Bloomington will continue to follow heightened infection control guidelines. As we have done throughout the last several weeks, we will regularly communicate updates about our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community.

Please contact your Friendship Village of Bloomington management team with questions and concerns. Thank you for your continued support.
