We want to provide an update on COVID-19 within our Friendship Village of Bloomington community. We learned on Friday, October 23rd, that one of our team members tested positive for the virus. We have two total team member cases of the virus, and both are self-isolating at home with the support of our Human Resources team.
As previously communicated, we have one independent living resident case of COVID-19, and this individual is self-isolating at home. This is our only active resident case of COVID-19.
We understand that you have concerns and may have questions about COVID-19 and the current situation in our community. Please know we continue with our commitment to protect the health and safety of our residents and team members. Our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community.
Lifespace and Friendship Village of Bloomington continue to follow heightened infection control guidelines and we highly encourage residents to only leave the community for essential needs like groceries or critical medical appointments. Residents and team members are encouraged to practice social distancing and wear a mask or face covering when you interact with others in public settings. Proper hand hygiene including handwashing and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer are essential to preventing the spread of the virus. As we have done throughout the last several weeks, we will provide regular updates about our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community.
We appreciate your support and continued adherence to the protocols we have implemented to protect our residents and team members. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Friendship Village of Bloomington management team.
Thank you
